New Mum, New You workshop

This workshop is designed to improve the health and wellbeing of pregnant mums and new mums. It aims to help you understand your mood and anxieties concerning this new and upcoming phase of your life, to understand how evolution influences your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
It aims to provide education into evolutionary and adaptive responses; to overcome worries and concerns about pregnancy, labour, birth and life with a baby; and to overcome self-criticism, guilt and shame.
You will acquire skills in managing and identifying thoughts, feelings and behaviours in helpful ways. Identifying unhelpful thinking styles, behaviour modification, peer support and normalisation, improve problem solving and decision making in relation to motherhood.
You will acquire skills in relaxation (affirmations, visualisation, breathing, soft touch massage) develop an understanding of and promote self-compassion in relation to pregnancy, motherhood and parenting.
If you are finding it difficult to prepare for or adjust to the transition of motherhood and being pregnant with anxieties about yourself, the baby or life after, with reduced resources to cope, feeling scared, sad or unhappy, guilty or are overly critical, this workshop will be of benefit to you. Motherhood is not always an easy or joyful experience, it can be hard, tiring and challenging, evoking difficult emotions and inducing a sense of isolation.
Learn ways of improving mood and lessening worries, connect with others, or just come and take part in some group discussions.
